We’ve got a big mission. No one said that lowering healthcare costs would be easy. Our organization is transforming the American healthcare experience to make high-quality healthcare more accessible at a lower cost for everyone, with a focus on enabling successful aging for all seniors.CAREER OPPORTUNITIES
Gary and Mary West are successful entrepreneurs and pioneering philanthropists with a commitment to lowering healthcare costs in the United States. After they founded West Corporation, a leading provider of technology-driven communications that grew to more than 30,000 employees, they became acutely aware of the pressing need to do something about the rising and unsustainable cost of healthcare.Learn More

We’re passionate about creating a healthcare delivery system that provides high-quality, more accessible care at a lower cost. But we can’t do it all on our own, so we’re rallying people to our mission. Together, we have the opportunity to push the boundaries of what’s possible, and profoundly improve the lives of the American people for the good of our nation.
Transforming the quality, accessibility and cost of healthcare in the U.S. is such a challenge that, to many, real change may seem impossible. But at West Health, we relish taking on challenges that others might shy away from. Every day, we’re in the trenches with our partners—influential doers—from all corners of healthcare, to bring the best new ideas, processes and technologies to life in a real and actionable way. We sincerely believe change is possible and that we can achieve it.
If we’re going to drive change in such a complex healthcare system, we’ve got to find fresh ways to think. New territories to explore. New ways to get things done, whether it’s about technology, science, workflow, investment, or other areas we haven’t thought of yet. We ask ourselves, what must we do because others won’t? If we’re going to be effective, we cannot be timid in the face of the challenge before us.
Breakthrough ideas can come from anywhere, and we want to learn about them and make them grow. Our willingness to collaborate with like-minded partners makes success possible. And with so much at stake, it’s never been more important to listen, learn, and work together towards our shared mission.
Even the noblest ambition is meaningless unless something’s getting done. Academic discussions alone won’t cut it. We’re already putting our ideas into action, and we eagerly seek every new opportunity to realize our mission. It’s our drive to see things change for the better, to see our mission become a reality that inspires us to keep moving forward.
HHS Innovator-in-Residence Program
In June of 2012, the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) launched a groundbreaking “Innovator-in-Residence” (IIR) program run out of the HHS IDEA Lab, with the West Health Institute (WHI) to lower the cost and improve the quality of healthcare. Based on the success and early learnings from the IIR program, WHI is now interested in focusing this partnership on health policy innovation to lower the cost and improve the quality of healthcare for seniors. Given the emphasis on seniors, the IIR program will act in partnership between HHS, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), and West Health to support research and evaluation of ongoing innovations, along with engagement of a broad range of stakeholders, to advance best practices to address healthcare delivery and payment for seniors.LEARN MORE ABOUT INNOVATOR-IN-RESIDENCE PROGRAM
