Meals on Wheels drivers are trusted friends to homebound seniors, and are often the only person who visits their home daily. For senior clients, the Meals on Wheels volunteers and staff have a consistent presence and insight into their home environment and family dynamics. Having meals delivered to their home benefits seniors’ overall wellbeing and independence.
We’re exploring ways to enhance existing meal delivery service for seniors to include more than just a nutritious meal and a friendly visit. Two Meals on Wheels pilot sites have been selected for testing of an electronic wellness support tool that is incorporated within the home-delivered meal service.
