Zia Agha, MD, serves as Chief Medical Officer for the Gary and Mary West Foundation and the West Health Institute, where he ensures West Health’s research portfolio and initiatives are translated into clinical practice, policy reform, and scalable innovation in support of West Health’s mission to lower healthcare costs and enable seniors to age in place with access to high-quality affordable healthcare that preserve their dignity, quality of life, and independence.

As West Health’s physician leader, Dr. Agha oversees strategic partnerships with leading health systems across the nation to accelerate the adoption of innovative, scalable care models. This includes work across West Health’s portfolio of initiatives spanning the Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE), geriatric emergency care, tech-enhanced care, and efforts to make healthcare more affordable. Through the West Health Accelerator program, which includes partnerships with Mass General Brigham, Northwestern Medicine, and the American Hospital Association, Dr. Agha helps translate evidence into real-world impact and drives progress toward a more effective and sustainable healthcare system.

Dr. Agha also serves on California’s Implementing the Master Plan for Aging in California Together (IMPACT) Stakeholder Committee, advising the California Health and Human Services Agency on accountability, outcomes, and continuous improvement for the state’s aging population.
