In June of 2012, the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) launched a groundbreaking “Innovator-in-Residence” (IIR) program run out of the HHS IDEA Lab, with theWest Health Institute (WHI) to lower the cost and improve the quality of healthcare. Based on the success and early learnings from the IIR program, WHI is now interested in focusing this partnership on health policy innovation to lower the cost and improve the quality of healthcare for seniors. Given the emphasis on seniors, the IIR program will act in partnership between HHS, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), and West Health to support research and evaluation of ongoing innovations, along with engagement of a broad range of stakeholders, to advance best practices to address healthcare delivery and payment for seniors.
